Joseph Fichera

Biography

Joseph Fichera is a technology leader and innovator with over 25 years of infrastructure experience. Supporting diverse technologies across several industries, he has a consistent track record as a catalyst for continual improvement.

Mr. Fichera was previously Director of Information Technology for a successful consulting firm, where he supervised and mentored an IT team and led short-term and long-term strategy to improve operational success consulting with federal government and commercial clients. Among his many accomplishments, he designed/planned network expansion from single site to multi-site with MPLS utilizing Cisco/HP switches and routers; he was hands-on with 50+ Windows servers (MS SQL, SharePoint , IIS, Exchange etc.); he maintained exiting Cisco ASA Firewall and deployed additional FortiNet and Sophos devices as required, and SQL server Maintenance and Operations including Queries as needed; he automated processes by using PowerShell and other scripting tools; he implemented Shared Storage (DELL, EMC, Cybernetics); and he utilized Active Directory for Account Creation, DNS, DHCP, and others.

Mr. Fichera started his career as an Aerospace Engineering major before settling into Information Technology. With firms like Fairchild Semiconductor, Staples and General Electric, he strove to provide exceptional support and solutions. He has successfully completed projects including improving Photolithography Standard Operating Procedures, deploying and testing retail Point of Sale updates, moving corporate headquarters, and designing A/V solutions and implementing Enterprise Communication Systems.

Mr. Fichera is always searching for ways to leverage new technologies to improve efficiency, user interface, and quality, while ensuring the security and safety of complex information systems. His traits of tenacity, curiosity and leadership have been instrumental to his success. Mr. Fichera currently resides in Arlington, VA with his family. When not working, he spends far too much time reading history books and coaching Youth Sports.
