Anton C. Bizzell, MD

Dr. Bizzell is a physician entrepreneur, visionary leader, and President & CEO of Bizzell, a global strategy, consulting, and technology firm tackling health, economic, security, and sustainability challenges. Under his leadership, the firm has grown from a two-person operation to an award-winning enterprise ranked on Inc.‘s Top 5000 List and recognized by the Washington Business Journal for its rapid growth and impact.
An expert in public health and behavioral health, Dr. Bizzell has spearheaded initiatives such as training opioid treatment providers, combating the Ebola epidemic, and advancing suicide prevention for U.S. military members. He also launched the Behavioral Health Advancement Resource Center, addressing critical issues like substance use disorders, COVID-19 mental health, and health equity. His monthly Psychology Today column, “Mind Your Health,” promotes actionable solutions for mental wellness and healthcare reform.
Dr. Bizzell’s career spans over 25 years, including roles at NIH and SAMHSA, where he led initiatives addressing prescription drug misuse and collaborated with federal agencies like the FDA, DEA, and ONDCP. Recognized as Maryland’s 2020 Small Business Person of the Year by the SBA, he serves on multiple advisory boards, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation Advisory Board, advancing innovative strategies for business and community growth.
A sought-after speaker and mentor, Dr. Bizzell is dedicated to fostering lasting change through community engagement, health equity, and economic development. He holds a B.A. in Biology and an M.D. from the University of Virginia, with postgraduate training from Howard University Hospital.
Rose Khasiala Amolo, MPH
Vice President, International Development
Rose Khasiala Amolo is a seasoned international health development professional with expertise in community-based and women empowerment strategies that strengthen community systems and structures to promote access to quality primary health care services, education and improve the overall socio-economic status of women, their families and communities.
For the past 15 years, Ms. Amolo worked as a Senior Technical Advisor at the Center For Development and Population Activities (CEDPA), where she focused on improving the quality of services and promoting the uptake and use of integrated family planning, reproductive health, maternal and child health, and HIV/AIDS services. Her work has also focused on training women leaders and building the capacity of women-led civil society organization to provide quality health and social services, advocate for the needs of women, and promote healthy gender relations in communities.
She has served as the Chief of Party of a USAID (PEPFAR)funded HIV/AIDS project, Positive Living Project in Nigeria. She has managed maternal, child health and family planning projects in Ghana, Tanzania, and India. Earlier in her career, she worked at the Gay Man’s Health Crisis in New York, providing nutrition counseling, as well as UNICEF where she contributed on the very heated discussion on whether to breastfeed or not for HIV positive women from the rural and resources poor global south. Rose started her career as an educator in Kenya and Washington DC.
Ms. Amolo holds an MPH in Nutrition, from New York University, Bachelor of Education from Kenyatta University, Nairobi, Kenya, and a certificate in monitoring and evaluation from American University, Washington DC. She is a native of Kenya, fluent in Kiswahili.
Anthony E. Koomson
Senior Associate, International Development
Anthony E. Koomson brings over 30 years of experience in designing and leading humanitarian and development programs across West Africa, East Africa, and the Caribbean, with a focus on food security, nutrition, health systems, resilience, and livelihoods. With 15+ years of senior leadership expertise in both headquarters and field operations, he has managed large, complex, multi-donor projects and excels in local capacity building and stakeholder engagement.
Koomson’s expertise spans value chain development, smallholder farming systems, health systems strengthening, disaster recovery, resilience programming, and policy management. He is highly experienced with USAID regulations, including 22 CFR 200 and ADS 303, and is dedicated to monitoring, evaluation, and learning to ensure sustainable impacts. His skill set includes training, coaching, and fostering partnerships for effective program implementation.
Koomson holds a Master’s degree in International Development from Ohio University and a Master’s in Public Policy, specializing in Health and Agriculture Policy, from American University. His career reflects a steadfast commitment to empowering communities and driving transformative, sustainable development solutions.
